Anti Aging Skincare Treatment

The best anti aging skincare treatment is to keep the skin clean, moist and supply.

As we grow older our skin tends to become drier, losing the collagen and elasticity it once had.

It becomes thinner and it loses some of the fat it once had causing sagging and the odd wrinkle or two.

At about the age of 40 our skin begins to needs an extra helping hand.

The changing seasons can affect your skin quite considerably. In the summer you will be putting on lots of sun cream, therefore your skin will probably be very healthy. But beware there is nothing more damaging to skin than the sun.

However in the winter when we have on the central heating, it's a different story. Heating no matter what type it is, is very drying on the skin and you will have to ensure your skin is given enough moisture in the form of a cream or lotion to compensate.

It's very easy to make your own creams and lotions - they contain two basic ingredients : oil and water. Sometimes an emulsifier is needed to stop the oil and water separating.

Vitamin E - is one of the best antioxidants for mature skin or anyone worried about aging. Helps protect against damage done by the environment, such as pollution, cigarettes and the sun. Try and add a few drops or capsule to all your skin care for mature skin recipes. It can be bought from any good health store.

Cleanser Recipe

Our first anti aging skincare treatment is a great little cleanser brimming full of anti oxidants :
  • half cup of water
  • two teaspoons of green tea leaves or two green tea bags
1.Boil the water and pour over tea leaves.
2.Allow the leaves to infuse for 5 minutes.
3.Sieve the mixture until the liquid is running clear.
4.Allow to cool before using.

Cold Cream Recipe

Our second anti aging skincare treatment is a good old fashioned cold cream. There is nothing more effective to soften, smooth and moisture dry skin :
  • an eighth of a teaspoon of borax powder
  • quarter cup water
  • half cup olive oil
  • two tablespoons of beeswax
1. Dissolve the borax in the water
2. Place the olive oil and beeswax together in a heat proof bowl.
3. Place the bowl over a pan of hot water and leave until the beeswax has melted into the oil.
4. Stir occasionally.
5. Now place the watery borax into the micro wave until almost boiling : for about 1 minute.
6. Mix both the borax mixture and the beeswax mixture together.
7. You are best to use an electric mixture or blender or mix briskly with a spoon.
8. Pour into a storage jar and store in a cool place.

Facial Scrub Recipe

Our third anti aging skincare treatment is a facial scrub to help remove dead cells which cause the skin to look lifeless.

We have used honey because of its moistening qualities, combined with olive oil : this will leave your skin baby soft.
  • 3 tablespoons of chocolate powder
  • 225ml honey
  • 50ml olive oil
  • Fine salt
1. Mix the chocolate, honey and olive oil together.
2. Add enough salt to make a paste of the mixture.
2. Gently massage your face and neck area before rinsing off with warm water.
