Anti Wrinkle Skincare For Mature Skin

As we grow older we need to give our skin some anti wrinkle skincare in other words .........some T.L.C.

Perhaps when you were younger, like many other people, you didn't realise the wrinkle effect the sun has on prematurely aging your skin
or perhaps you were or are a smoker and don't realise smoking can take as much as a staggering 10 years off your looks.

As our skin matures it begins to sag, and fine lines and folds in the skin begin to appear - we call these wrinkles! This happens because the body doesn't produce as much elastin as it did when it was younger. The skin also gets thinner as the amounts of collegen depletes. Collegen helps our skin stay plump and moist and, with less being produced as we get older, our skin becomes drier and thinner.

Other things apart from the odd wrinkle appearing also happen to our skin - it's all good news (not)!
  • Skin tags can appear
  • Ageing spots can appear
  • Discoloration of the skin can happen

anti wrinkle skincare Stop panicking because although we can't stop the aging process and the appearance of a wrinkle or two, we can do many things to help slow it down. We can look at our diet, our anti wrinkle skincare routine and keeping our bodies healthy : in short, the food we eat, the products we apply to our skin, exercise and lifestyle.

Your Diet
The food we eat is the fuel your body works off. Give it bad fuel and it won't go very far. The best diet for good health is one which is low in fat and the one which I would recommend and use myself is : The Rosemary Conley diet.

Even if you don't need to lose weight the basic principles that the Rosemary Conley diet works off have been proven to be the ones best for good health. The diet is one of low fat with lots of fruit and vegetables, a good amount of carbohydrates and even some sugary treats thrown in for the sweet tooth. Yes this diet will even allow you a glass of wine now and again. Take a look at her website. If you are in the UK you can attend classes; outside the UK there are still plenty of books and videos to buy.

Exercise
The Rosemary Conley diet isn't just about food, Rosemary Conley herself is a great believer that even a slim person can only stay healthy with a good amount of exercise. Take a look at how much exercise you get every day and step it up if you need to. Go swimming, cycling, walk the dog, go to an exercise class, even run up and down the stairs 20 times a day. Any exercise is good and will help you in your anti wrinkle skincare routine.

Drinking water is essential for life and will help your body work to its very best. Make sure you get enough.

Carry out our anti wrinkle skincare routine every morning.

1. Start your skincare routine using a gentle cleanser such as our camomile cleansing milk or Decleor Cleansing Milk

2. To help plump out our cells and prevent the extra wrinkle appearing, use an aromatherapy oil in your skincare routine such as our rose oil or Decleor Aromessence Iris Rejuvenating Serum Massage well into the skin using gentle circular movements for one or two minutes. The massaging movement will help your circulation bring fresh blood supplies to your cells while draining your lymphatics. The aromatherapy oil will go deep into your skin layers where it can work at moisturising and plumping your skins.

I use a vitamin C serum in my anti wrinkle skincare routine sometimes as an alternative to aromatherapy oil as it brightens and lightens my skin, as well as having the advantage of giving some protection against the suns rays.

3. If you have time a facial massage is a great way to tone your skin while relaxing. Try adding into your skincare routine a few facial exercises once or twice a week.

4. Next apply a good anti wrinkle cream with a sun protector included. Your cream should include either or both vitamin C and E.

Vitamin E will help fight free radicals with its antixoxidants helping reduce fine lines and wrinkles. This is a must to add to your skincare routine.

Vitamin C is an ascorbic acid which is water soluble and found in citrus fruits. It protects against the harmful rays of the sun which can cause cancer - vitamin c will provide us with some protection against the sun's rays but please don't use it alone as you will still need a good sun barrier cream. Vitamin C is also an antioxidant which is great news in preventing the odd premature wrinkle or two.

The sun is the skin's enemy and can do much damage so protect it well with our anti wrinkle skincare routine.

We recommend - Decleor Hydra Floral Flower Nectar Moisturising Cream and Decleor Aroma Sun Hydrating Self-Tanning Milk SPF8
