Basic essential oils
Essential oils can enhance our mind, body and spirit. They are extracted from plants, trees and grasses.

Some basic essential oils are more expensive than others and, if that has ever puzzled you, then read ahead. Sixty thousand rose blossoms are required to produce 25g (1oz) of rose oil. To produce 3 litres of lavender oil you need 100kg of dried lavender flowers.
Musical Notes
You may have heard people talk of top, middle and base notes. This doesn’t mean that aromatherapy oils will suddenly make you burst into song, it’s just a way of describing how long an essential oil’s scent will last.
Middle notes - These oils won’t last as long as base notes, however they will last for two to three days. These oils give body to the blend typically forming the bulk of the blend. Top notes - These scents only last for around 24 hours. Top notes are really important because they give you a first impression of the blend. They are sharp, penetrating, volatile and extreme.
