Bath Salt Recipe

A bath salt Recipe is a wonderful old-fashioned indulgence and a real treat for a warm winter bath. They not only make your bath a little bit special but they can be very decorative sitting beside the bath in an attractive plate such as a wooden bowl : they make good room fresheners.

To use bath salts, add 2 large tablespoons to the water of a running warm bath. Relax and enjoy for at least 15 minutes.

Salt Fresh Bath Salts can be used as a wonderful wake up call in the morning and Calming Bath Salts are lovely used just before bedtime to calm and de-stress.

Bath Melt Recipes - by making my own bath melts, I not only know the oils that are soaking into my skin but I can choose which aromatherapy oil to use depending on my mood or any skin treatments I may wish to use.

Salt Fresh Bath Salts - revive and refresh tired skin

  • 1 cup of coarse or fine salt
  • 1 cup of Epsom Salts
  • ¼ cup of glycerine
  • 10 drops lavender essential oil
  • 10 drops lemongrass essential oil
  • 8 drops eucalyptus essential oil
  • 5 drops of food colouring
Mix the oils in a small bowl. In another bowl mix the salt and glycerine together. Mix both the oils and salt mixture together well. Let it stand for 15 minutes. Store in a dark glass container and it will stay fresh up to one year. You should get about 4 baths out of this recipe depending on how much you use at any time.

Calming Bath Salts
  • 500grms coarse sea salt
  • 10 drops chamomile essential oil
  • 5 drops of food colouring
Mix all the ingredients together and store in a dark glass bottle. This can be kept fresh by storing safely for one year.
