Chamomile Face Mask
Mayonnaise and Chamomile - a perfect combination
A Chamomile Face Mask is perfect for all kinds of skin. Its kind and gentle properties make this an ideal aromatherapy oil to tone and repair delicate skin tissue and treat skin conditions such as redness, acne, and eczema.
Some of the many benefits chamomile can bring to our skin are anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-allergenic properties. It’s one of the most beautiful flowers belonging to the daisy family and looks every bit the part.
In our first Chamomile Face Mask we are using mayonnaise. Mayonnaise is an amazing skin mask as it contains everything you would want. Mayonnaise contains eggs, oil and vinegar, all of which will soothe and improve the texture of the skin leaving it soft and conditioned. Mayonnaise also makes a great hair rinse.
Our second mask is made from porridge or oatmeal, both of which are gentle and kind to skin and just like mayonnaise can be used for any skin type. Rich in protein, potassium, iron, phosphates and magnesium, leaving the skin beautifully soft.
both these mask are gentle enough for your eye area although you should be careful not to get it into your eyes.
Make sure you have peace and quiet, go and get a good book and/or put your favourite music on, and light a few candles. Now you’re ready.
Chamomile Face Mask
- ½ cup of full fat mayonnaise
- 5 drops of chamomile oil
Mix the above together and apply all over your face and neck area. Leave for at least 15-20 minutes before rinsing off with warm water. Use a toner and moisturiser on your face and neck area to finish.
The next time you have a cup of chamomile tea - stop a minute - and think about a face mask before you finish it. Or better still benefit from the effects of chamomile inside and out by making your face mask with ½ cup of tea and relax with the other half, while your face mask is on. The tea is especially good for women suffering from pre-menstrual tension.
Chamomile Porridge Mask
- ½ cup of strong chamomile tea
- ¼ cup of porridge or oatmeal
Mix the above together and leave for a few minutes to allow the porridge to thicken. Apply to your face and neck area for at least 15-20 minutes while you relax. Rinse off with warm water over a sink as this can be messy. Use a toner and moisturiser to finish.
