Exfoliating Body Brush

exfoliating body brush

Exfoliating body brush - The skin is the largest organ of the body and the largest area where waste and toxins are disposed of. Waste is a substance the body has used and toxins a substance the body has no use for. Skin brushing will help improve blood circulation and lymphatic circulation which encourages the body to get rid of waste and toxins. Exfoliation happens naturally all the time. Dead cells flake off our bodies daily leaving room for new fresh cells underneath. In fact, as you’re reading this, thousands of tiny skin cells are falling off your body. So why do we need to help this processes along? The dead cells, although disregarded by the body, can hang around on the skin leaving it dull and listless. How can we help this process along?

Dry Skin Scrub

body brush You will need a soft exfoliating body brush, any brush will do as long as it has soft bristles. Stand in the shower and using gentle circular strokes massage your entire body starting with your feet and working your way up towards your shoulders. Pay attention to your upper arms, thighs, bottom, heels and elbows and of course any areas that you are having a problem with dry skin. Shower using a gentle body wash. Use a special facial brush for your face, they can be bought from any good beauty salon.

Homemade body scrubs especially ones made with sugar and salt will help remove flaking dry skin.

Bath Mitts and Loofahs

Bath mitts and loofahs tend to get overlooked when we think of exfoliation. However they make an excellent body scrub. If you have bath mitts, put a bar of soap inside the mitt and gentle massage over your entire body while showering. Pay careful attention to your upper arms, thighs, bottom, heels and elbows.

Oily Skin and Exfoliation

If you have oily skin, exfoliation is very important to keep your pores from blocking: however do not over stimulate your skin by being too enthusiastic, otherwise your skin will go into overdrive with sebum!

Exfoliating Body Brush - far too much

Many people believe if a little exfoliation is good a lot must be even better. It’s a notion which is completely wrong. Over exfoliation will only remove the natural protective barrier on your skin which will result in your skin becoming sensitive, irritated and prematurely aged.
