Fix a hangover using natural remedies - You had a great night out with a few friends, a few laughs and a few drinks. You thought you had slept it off until you lifted your head off the pillow - and bang your hangover has just kicked in.

So, for the next time, take a few moments now to find out how you can avoid another bad hangover. Yes, the best thing would be to avoid drinking alcohol altogether, but it’s unlikely that you will take this advice as there will always be occasions in life when with the best of intentions we get carried away and perhaps drink a little more than we intended.

  • To avoid having to fix a hangover : drink one glass of water for every glass of alcohol you drink.
  • Try drinking organic wine which has less chemicals added and less likely to result in hangovers.

Fix a hangover using natural remedies

The tea remedy :

drink peppermint or fennel tea with a thin slice of ginger - a refreshing drink at any time which will calm your stomach.

The tissue remedy :
  • 1 drop of rosemary essential oil
  • 1 drop of lemon essential oil
  • 1 drop of peppermint essential oil
Place all the above on a paper tissue and take deep breaths to help clear the head and stimulate the brain and improve energy levels.

Or try the vapour remedy :

Alternatively, place the above oils in a bowl of boiling water and breath in the vapours. This is a very relaxing way to help your energy levels rise.

The bath remedy :

If you can face it, run an aroma bath which will both relax your body and improve energy levels as you inhale the aromatherapy oils
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 4 drops of rosemary essential oil
  • 3 drops of juniper essential oil
  • 2 drops of fennel essential oil

If you are at all suspicious that you are drinking too much, please seek medical advice. There is no disgrace in seeking help. Alcoholism is an illness that can affect anyone from any background, at any age.
