A Green Tea Face Mask Can Really Help Oily Skin And Acne

The next time you make a cup of green tea leave enough in your cup to make a green tea face mask for yourself.

Green tea has many benefits externally as well as internally. As a skin calmer and healer, it is gentle enough to use on the most sensitive of skin.

Full of anti oxidants it helps to slow the aging process down and rejuvenate skin cells, making it especially helpful after sunburn.

There are many green tea products on the market today from moisturises, lip gloss to perfume. However they are not necessary the best for your skin. If you want to gain the full benefits of green tea for your skin then you must prepare and use it immediately. So go ahead it’s not as difficult as you think to make your own beauty products - and it's a lot more fun.

Fullers Earth and Kaolin Powder can easily and cheaply be bought from eBay.

Cleanse your face first and if time allows give your face a deep cleanse by exfoliating, before applying your mask.

  • About 5tbls Kaolin Powder
  • ¼ cup of strong hot green tea
  • 1 tsp of honey

Porridge Green Tea Face Mask - for all skin types
  • 4tbs Porridge Oats
  • ½ cup of strong hot green tea
  • 1tsp of honey
Mix the ingredients together while the green tea is still hot making a thick paste. By using the mask hot you are forcing pores to open therefore allowing the benefits of the green tea to work into the deeper layers of the skin. There should be plenty of mask to cover your face, neck and shoulder area. If you only wish to cover your face then halve the ingredients. Go and relax, leaving the mask to work for at least 20-30 minutes before rinsing off, and finish by moisturising your skin.

Acne / Zit Soother

Make a good strong cup of green tea and allow to cool in the fridge. Take a cosmetic/cotton wool pad and soak with the green tea. Now dab it onto affected acne or zit areas. Allow the green tea to dry naturally on your skin therefore allowing it to soothe and heal your skin.
