Hair Shampoo Recipe - Some people claim that they don’t need to wash their hair more than a couple of times a year. Strictly speaking hair is self cleaning. However in the 21st century we have so much pollution that hair can’t cope and we also feel it’s important for hygiene reasons to smell nice for our own sake and for the sake of others!
Find a shampoo that is ph balanced or make your own. To make your own shampoo you can buy a base shampoo which is organic and add essential oils, herbs or both.
Hair Conditioning
The aim of any good conditioner is to smooth down the ruffled scales of the hair leaving it silky smooth and easy to brush or comb. Even oily hair should be conditioned especially if it’s long.
Shampoo Tips
Washing too often will dry your hair out
Use only a little shampoo and work up a lather
Make sure you rinse your hair thoroughly after shampooing
Wet hair is fragile. Be very gentle when you comb it though, as it can easily break and cause split ends.
Long hair should always be conditioned after shampooing
Short hair does not need to be conditioned with every shampoo, just occasionally
Add the essential oils to the shampoo base and shake well. This will keep for a few months.
