Home Remedies For Eczema
There are many home remedies for eczema.
Emu oil is only one which is beneficial to use as it is anti-inflammatory, anti bacterial, promotes cell re-generation, soothes and moisturises.
Emu oil comes as a lotion, cream, shower gel, massage bar, even as a facial cleanser, so you are spoilt for choice. As an extra treat add lavender to the oil.
Aromatherapy natural eczema remedies are bergamot oil because it is an antiseptic useful for skin conditions such as eczema and
acne.
Lavender and
camomile because they soothe and calm especially red angry skin. Juniper berry is another.
Cold press are great home remedies for eczema using either lavender, camomile or juniper berry (avoid juniper berry if you are pregnant) applied with cold water can ease irritation. Pour 500ml of cold water into a bowl and add 5 drops of one of the above
aromatherapy oils. Take a face cloth and soak it in the mixture before rinsing and placing on affected skin. Repeat the process when you feel the face cloth has warmed up. Do this for about 20 minutes. Alternatively you could use cold camomile tea which is excellent for this purpose.
Shea butter is an excellent treatment as it is anti inflammatory, heals soothes and moisturises. Many people swear by
shea butter; however buy pure shea butter with no other added ingredients, while if you want you can add your own essential oils such as lavender. Apply to affected areas as often as required.
Honey is a powerful natural healer and moisturiser as it can be applied onto the affected area and left for at least 30 minutes. This is an ideal treatment to leave on overnight as long as you don’t mind your pyjamas getting a bit sticky!
Aloe vera is one of the best home remedies for eczema treatments known. It can be used for sunburn, cuts, bruising, burns, blisters, acne : to name only a few. It’s anti inflammatory, anti bacterial and its healing properties make it ideal for eczema.
Aloe vera can be spread onto the area as often as required or try mixing it with a little honey and apply to the area as a mask for 20-30 minutes.
Coconut oil is a natural healer penetrating deep into the skin's tissue to repair damaged skin. It is considered one of the most important treatments in eczema. Apply to the affected area as often as required.
Natural Eczema Remedies Using Aromatherapy Oils
Oil to soothe, calm and moisturise
- 8 drops of camomile essential oil
- 3 drops of lavender oil
- 25 ml of sweet almond oil
mix the above ingredients together and use as required on affected areas.
Skin healer
- 25 ml of sweet almond oil
- 8 drops of bergamot essential oil
- 3 drops of lavender
mix the above ingredients together and use as required on affected areas.
Bath Oil
- 2ml jojoba oil
- 10 drops of bergamot essential oil
- 2 drops of chamomile essential oil
mix the above together and pour into a warm bath.
