Homemade Hand Cream Recipes
Wearing protective gloves while we are washing dishes, clothes, cleaning etc is a must, as so many chemicals are added to washing ingredients nowadays. Exposing your hands constantly to water will dry your skin out and cause premature wrinkles, and if that isn’t bad enough, your nails will become brittle and will break.
Step by Step Manicure
It’s easy to file nails and keep them clean, and with a bit of practise it’s easy to apply polish as well.
Paraffin Wax Manicure If your hands are dry and in need of moisture you could apply a hot paraffin wax treatment.
The Weather
Wearing warm gloves on a cold winter’s day will prevent your hands from the pain of chapping. However we shouldn’t forget on a hot day the sun can do as much damage to our hands, if not more. We tend to be very good at applying sun lotion to our bodies and faces but - be honest -how many of us remember to massage a good sun protector into our hands before emerging into the hot sun ?
Gardening Hands
If you are a gardening fanatic, don’t forget to use a pair of gardening gloves : yes I said a pair. So many gardeners only use the one glove because they find it a nuisance on the hand they work with. Buy a pair of gloves which feel comfortable and give you the freedom to work without thinking about how the gloves are restricting you.
Swimming
If you are a swimmer you are probably aware of the drying damage chlorine does not only to your hands but to your body skin and hair. Using a rich hand and body moisturising cream as soon as you have dried yourself can help control dry skin.
Kitchen Soap
Traditionally kitchen soap is harsh, either gardening soap or a bar of carbolic. Your hands are important to you so keep in the kitchen a bar of soap which is enriched with oils or glycerine for moisturising your skin.
Homemade Hand Cream Recipes
Add the capsule of vitamin E to the mixture stirring all the time. Allow to cool by stirring the mixture for 2-3 minutes. Place the mixture into a storing jar. Glycerine and rosewater hand cream
Put the remaining rosewater into a pan with the glycerine - and heat very gently. Mix in the cornflour paste, stirring all the time so that the mixture thickens. Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool before placing in a storage jar.
