Homemade Skin Bleach

So many people have asked me about homemade skin bleach I decided to write this page.

Many coloured people want to bleach their skin because they have uneven skin tone. Many white people want to bleach their skin to reduce a suntan, lighten dark age spots, scars and freckles.

Most uneven skin tone on any colour of skin is the result of too much sun. It's important to wear a good sun protector cream. By protecting your skin you will help reduce further freckles, age spots getting darker and skin becoming uneven in tone. The sun is one of beauty's worst enemies, wear a hat and don’t sit in the sun if you don’t want early wrinkles!

Whatever your reasons to want to bleach your skin there are many products you can buy; however some are expensive but they do work and some very quickly. Using natural methods to bleach the skin is not a quick method and rarely happens overnight so be patient and you will see results slowly but surely.

If you are serious about using a natural bleach then you must exfoliate your skin too. By exfoliating you are removing the top layer of skin which is a dead layer and will fall off naturally if left. By removing these dead cells you are evening out your skin tone by lightening your skin a little.

Lemon Scrub

Try a sugar scrub and you will never look back :
  • 1-2 cups brown sugar
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 2tbls lemon juice
Mix the sugar and olive oil in a bowl until it forms a paste.
Add more sugar if it is too runny.
Massage gently into your skin before washing off with warm water.

Method 1

Potatoes have a natural bleach in them making them ideal for a homemade skin bleach.

Peel a few potatoes and cut them into small pieces.
Place in the liquidiser and blend until smooth.
Mix the liquid with porridge oats to form a paste.
Massage the mix gently into your skin and leave for 30 minutes before washing off.
Carry out this treatment two or three times a week until you see improvement.

If you only want to bleach a tiny area then you can simply cut a potato in half and place it directly onto the skin.

Method 2

Lemon juice is a wonderful homemade skin bleach which women have been using for centuries.

Buy some fresh lemons and squeeze the juice out of them.
You can store the juice in a refrigerator.
Apply the juice directly to your skin and leave on overnight.

Make an egg white mask

Whip up the white of an egg until it stands in peaks.
Slowly add two teaspoons of lemon juice and mix together.
Apply to your face and leave for 30 minutes before washing off.

Warning
Although it works, please don’t be tempted to use hydroxyquinone as it can cause severe skin irritation that is just not worth it. In some country such as the UK it is banned!
