Lavender Oil Use

Lavender oil use is widely available and the most useful and cheapest of essential oils which can help acne , eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, bruises, burns, asthma, bronchitis, headaches, migraine, and insomnia to name a few.

This beautiful flowering shrub is a native to the Mediterranean region although it is now grown all over the world. Lavender oil use is one of the most versatile and widely used aromatherapy oils used today.

The name lavender maybe comes from the Latin Lavare, meaning “to wash”, the ancient Romans loved to wash but also valued the plant for its medicinal benefits.

Honey and Lavender

My daughter has a beautiful lavender plant which grows in the garden under her sitting room window. Her cat, Daisy, loves to sit for hours on the window sill in the summer and watch through the glass (she is not stupid) as hundreds of bees buzz about the lavender looking for nectar. Lavender flowers yield abundant nectar which give a high quality honey : this could explain where some of the magical qualities of honey comes from.

Cooling Bath If you want to keep a suntan, don't soak in a piping hot bath - it only encourages the outer layer of skin to soften, flake or peel. Opt instead for this lukewarm bath which will calm the skin.

  • 2 drops pure lavender essential oil
  • 1 drop pure camomile essential oil
  • Add the oils to a bath filled with lukewarm water.
