Lemon Juice to Lighten Hair

Lemon juice to lighten hair is an ideal natural method, If you have light brown hair or blonde hair.

Lemon juice can give you blonde highlights worthy of any top hair salon.

lemon juice to lighten hair

Lemon juice is a natural bleach and can be used safely on your hair and even on your skin to lighten.

However it can be a little drying; it can be great if you have oily hair, but not so great for other hair types.

Make sure you use a good conditioner afterwards and your hair will recover the lost moisture.

It won't work on dark hair although it may just give you the lift and shine your hair is looking for.

Always do a skin patch test behind your ears before you use any new product even natural ones. It is better to be safe than to be sorry !

Lemon Juice To Lighten Hair
  • 1 towel - to put round your shoulders
  • a comb
  • 50ml Lemon Juice
  • 150ml water
1. shampoo and rinse your hair first

2. mix the lemon juice and water together

3. pour over your scalp a little at a time

4. massage lemon and water into your scalp and roots

5. comb your hair just to ensure every strand is covered.

Leave lemon on your hair for 30 minutes before rinsing out with warm water.

For maximum benefit, sit in the sunshine for at least 20 minutes.

Make sure you wear your sunscreen so you don't burn your skin.

If you don't live in a sunny country, and if like the UK sunny days can only be found in the summer months, then you can repeat this process once daily for a week to build up your highlights slowly.

Did you know you not only can use lemon juice to lighten hair but it can be used to clean and white nails ?

Take half a lemon and about 200ml of water and soak your nails for 10 minutes. Why not give yourself a full manicure?
