Makeup Tips for Smokey Eyes
First you should apply foundation to suit your skin tone to your whole face including your eyelids then you are ready to follow our great makeup tips for smokey eyes.
Taking a sponge make-up applicator and some light shaded neutral coloured eye powder such as ivory sweep across the eyelid from the inside area to the outside area, from the eyelashes to the brows.
Now take a medium shade of eye powder colour and using a brush sweep over the entire eyelid from the inside to the outside from the eyelashes to the eye socket.
With a darker shade of eye powder, such as brown, take your sponge applicator again and smudge into the eye socket. Make a smudged line from about the middle of your iris to a little over the end of your eyelash line. Soften any hard lines made by the sponge applicator with a brush. To finish, you can sweep a little more ivory over your entire eyelid area, as this really softens the whole effect and makes for a perfect blend.
Makeup Tips for Smokey Eyes and Eyebrows
Now we will take a look at eyebrows. Eyebrows can be overlooked all together or worse they can be plucked to death so that they don’t even sit in the right place any more. It’s a good idea to visit a beauty therapist who will be able to shape your eyebrows to define your eyes.
After shaping, comb through the eyebrow hairs with an eyebrow brush, upwards and outwards to open up the eye area.
Now use an eyebrow pencil or powder to define. Taking the pencil use very light strokes onto the hair. Before using the powder take a tissue and place it directly under the eyebrow to collect any stray powder. As with the pencil, take your brush lightly coated in eyebrow powder and using very light strokes apply to the hairs of the eyebrow. Using powder is my favourite as it gives a lovely natural finish.
Eyeliner is flattering for any shape of eye. Make sure you have good light before starting. Take the corner of the eye and stretch it a little. Streyching the eye slightly makes all the difference to easy application. Now take your eye liner and draw a line just on top of the eyelashes. To make your eyes seem a little wider take your liner just past where your eyelashes stop. Pencil eyeliners are the best for beginners but once you have mastered the technique liquid eyeliners are easy.
Coat your upper lashes in mascara first. Taking the brush, use a sideways see saw movement to apply. Finish by applying to lower lashes.
It takes a little patience to perfect any make-up routine. Try experimenting with different brushes and sponges, colours and foundations. Find the right combination which suits you and with which you are comfortable.
