Manuka Honey for Skincare

Manuka honey for skincare can do some amazing things, and the best bit about it is - it's all natural. It's been known for some time that honey can heal our skin and fight bacteria, making it ideal for skin problems such as acne, spots and zits.

Healing
Away back in the 60s, my dad, who was a doctor, was aware of the properties of honey and used to give us a spoonful of honey for a sore throat or sometimes if we grazed our knees he would spread honey over the wound to stop infection and promote healing.

Beauty
If you go back further in time you will discover that the Egyptians knew all about the benefits of honey. Cleopatra used it as part of her daily beauty treatments for facials, bathing and hair conditioning. After the 2nd World War, antibiotics came into play and sadly honey was forgotten for a time. However the appearance of Manuka Honey has made the world sit up and notice this amazing natural product again.

Tea tree oil and honey
Manuka honey comes from New Zealand and is a bi-product from the Manuka bush which incidentally is the same bush that produces tea tree oil : this might explain why it has such strong antibacterial and antifungal properties.

The secret of Manuka Honey for skincare
Manuka honey is much more efficient at fighting bacteria than ordinary honey because it is more resistant to heat and other enzymes with which it comes into contact. This fact alone means that it can continue to fight infection off for much longer than any other honey. making it ideal for acne, spots or zits prone skin.

So why not go and buy yourself some of this miracle honey
and make yourself a facial?
