Mixed Smoothie Recipes - What could you achieve if you had more energy? Have you ever thought, 'If I only had more energy, I could get so much more done ?' Almost every day, I bet!

Mixed smoothie recipes are full of nutrition, they are a great kick-start to the day or, if you prefer, can be drunk as a dessert or simply an enjoyable refreshing drink at any time of the day. What could be more perfect on a summer's day than to enjoy a smoothie outside sitting in quiet contemplation with the sun on your back, listening to the garden birds ?

It’s not warm outside ? Sit by the fire with your easy fruit recipe smoothie and enjoy the flavour and textures of the fruit while watching your favourite tv programme knowing you are doing yourself and your body a favour keeping away from the chocolate box.

Mixed Smoothie Recipes - Ice Cream and Berries

Blenders and Fruit

Our mixed smoothie recipes are really easy to make and delicious to drink. The only equipment you need is a blender. Don’t go buying a special smoothie maker unless you really want one as most of them are only blenders with a tap attached.

You can throw just about any fresh fruit together to make a smoothie : bananas, raspberries, mangos, oranges, lemons, apples, gooseberries etc. Enhance the flavours further with ingredients such as honey, jams, syrup and juices etc. Instead of healthy low fat milk why not try adding carnation milk for a change.

Mixed Smoothie Recipes

60-90 seconds is long enough to mix all ingredients together in a blender, in some recipes you may find 30 seconds is enough.

BANANA SMOOTHIE
  • 1 banana
  • 5fl oz yoghurt
  • 15ml honey
  • 8oz ice cubes
In a blender ,mix all the ingredients together. Serve immediately.

APPLES AND CREAM SMOOTHIE

  • 2 cups vanilla low-fat ice cream
  • 1 cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon or apple pie spice
  • 1 cup of low fat milk
  • Ground cinnamon
In a blender, mix the low-fat ice cream, apple sauce, and the cinnamon together. Blend until smooth. Add the low fat milk and blend until just mixed. Pour into glasses. If desired, sprinkle each serving with additional cinnamon. Serve immediately.

HONEY AND PEACH SMOOTHIE

  • 1 ripe, medium-size peach
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1/2 cups yogurt
In a blender, mix all the ingredients together. Serve immediately.

LEMON AND LIME SMOOTHIES

  • 10 ounces lemon lime soda
  • 2 ounces lemons
  • 2 ounces limes
  • 1 scoop lemon sherbet
  • 1 scoop lime sherbet
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 cup ice
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
In a blender, mix all the ingredients together. Serve immediately.

MANGO DRUM SMOOTHIE

  • 1 ripe mango, peeled, pitted and chopped
  • ¾ cup milk, chilled
  • ¼ cup low fat vanilla yogurt
  • ¾ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 ice cubes
  • Pinch of salt
  • Fresh mint sprigs
In a blender, mix all the ingredients together. Serve immediately

RASPBERRY MIX SMOOTHIE

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen red raspberries
  • 1 cup low fat milk
  • 3 tablespoons red raspberry preserves
  • 4 ice cubes
In a blender, mix all the ingredients together. Serve immediately.

SUMMER FRUIT SMOOTHIE

  • 1 cup low fat milk
  • 1 ½ cups frozen banana slices
  • ½ cups pineapple chunks
  • 5 frozen strawberries
In a blender, mix all the ingredients together. Serve immediately.

MANGO, PINEAPPLE AND PASSION FRUIT SMOOTHIE

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 ripe chilled mango, peeled, stoned and chopped
  • 1/4 pineapple, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1 passion fruit, halved

In a blender, mix all the ingredients together. Serve immediately.
