Natural Treatments For Rosacea Skincare

This page is especially for people looking for natural treatments for rosacea skincare. This is a horrible skin condition if you are unlucky enough to have it. It’s not a disease and cannot spread from one person to another but it can be disabling mentally for the sufferer who can lose so much self confidence because of it.

What is rosacea ? Rosacea can often start with a blushing attack and can sometimes but not always lead to permanent redness of the checks, nose, forehead and chin. The redness looks a bit like acne with small veins. Sometimes it’s your nose which is the most obvious, getting redder and redder until it’s bulbous.

So what can we do? First have a look at what you are eating by taking a look at our page on foods to eat for rosacea. There are a number of natural treatments for rosacea which you can try. Something which might work for one person might not work for you. It’s a bit of trial and error.

Use only products which are for sensitive skin, especially natural products which calm and soothe.

It is best not to use a toner on your skin which includes alcohol and witch hazel as they can often trigger. Rose water is an anti inflammatory and is a gentle alternative.

Moisturising oil

Lavender is anti inflammatory with calming soothing properties Mix the above together and apply to your face and neck area before bedtime.

Moisturising cream

Below we have suggested two mixtures to include in a moisturiser. It’s a good idea to use both on alternate weeks.

option 1 chamomile cream cleanser
  • 30g base cream
  • 8 drops of chamomile essential oil - chamomile soothes and calms
option 2
  • 30g base cream
  • 8 drops of carrot seed essential oil - will help remove toxins and leave the skin looking fresher and feeling firmer.
Choose your ingredients and mix together in a small eggcup.

Aloe Vera Mask

Aloe vera and honey have been used as a natural herbal remedy for thousands of years because they have healing and anti-inflammatory properties and few are allergic to them. Mix the above together before spreading all over your face and neck area. Leave for 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water.

Exfoliate to give your skin a deep cleanse and remove dead cells - a great natural treatment for rosacea skincare

Only exfoliate once a month and certainly not just before you are going out somewhere. Be very gentle when using this mixture as it can stimulate the skin, causing redness which is unwelcome.
  • 5tbls of fine oatmeal
  • 5 tbls olive oil
  • 1tsp honey
  • 2 drops of lavender
Mix the above ingredients together to form a paste. Add more oats to form a thicker paste and extra olive oil to form a thinner paste. Apply to your face and neck and with gentle circular movements, massage the mixture into your face. Rinse with warm water.
