Paraffin Wax Manicure - For step by step instructions, start to finish, on a manicure treatment, please go to hand care.

If your hands are dry and in need of moisture you could apply a hot paraffin wax treatment. For Safety Reasons don't attempt to heat the paraffin wax in anything other than a paraffin wax heater which heats the wax up to the right temperature.

Hand Care Tips

Remove nicotine stains from your fingers by rubbing the skin with lemon juice.

If you have weak or brittle nails try soaking them in almond oil. Gently massage the oil into the nails and cuticles for 5 minutes.

One of the best things you can do for your hands and nails is to keep them out of water. Water will dry your skin and leave your nails weak.

Garderner lovers beware of the damage that working with the earth can cause such when you are washing your hands to get the dirt out of your skin and underneath your nails.

Remember the sun can age skin so don't forget about your hands - protect them with sun block.

Apply a good hand cream and of course and treat yourself to a paraffin wax manicure once a week.

You will need :

  • Hot paraffin wax
  • Two plastic bags big enough to glove one hand (sandwich bagsare perfect)
  • Terry towelling gloves
Step 1. Dip each hand gently and slowly into the paraffin, hold for just an instant, and remove the hand. Allow the wax to 'set', then dip again.

Step 2. Dip and remove each hand into the paraffin several times.

Step 3.Wrap each hand with a plastic liner such as a sandwich bag, then cover with terrycloth gloves or wrap them in a towel.

Allow the paraffin to remain on the hands for at least 20 minutes.

Hand Cream

Mix the beeswax, almond oil and coconut oil in a bowl and place over a pan of boiling water, until all the wax has melted. Add the glycerine slowly to the mixture. Remove the mixture from the heat and allow to cool slightly before adding essential oils of your choice.
