Pineapple Face Mask

A pineapple face mask will remove impurities and unblock pores with its natural exfoliating properties leaving the skin revitalised, looking brighter and fresher.

Our skin is constantly fighting the environment. Elements such as the wind, sun, central heating and pollution all play their part in clogging and ageing our skin. By exfoliating, the true beauty of our skin gets a chance to shine through.

This mask is one of the best exfoliators, but do remember that by removing all those dead cells on the surface layer of your skin the sun can easily burn it. Use a sun factor moisturiser and foundation before venturing outside.

Full of vitamin C, this fruit will also help fight off free radicals which can prematurely age our skin cells.

Pineapple is delicious so don’t forget to save a few slices to eat while you relax with your mask. Pineapple is very good for a sluggish digestive system, relieving constipation which in turn will give you an even brighter complexion.

Storage

The beauty of making your own homemade mask is that you know it’s fresh and you know what’s in it, as nature intended.

Your pineapple face mask can be kept in the fridge for up to 24 hours but it is soooo much better to use it straight away and get the full benefit of all those live enzymes on your skin.

Before you relax with your mask you should:

Wash your face thoroughly with a gently cleansing cream or milk.

Remove any residue of the cleanser with a toner.

Steam your face, using a little lavender oil as this will help loosen dirt, blackheads and blocked pores, while at the same time reduce any inflamed blemishes.

Don’t just brighten up your skin : remember your eyes need a little help too. Try one of our cooling eye masks

Pineapple Face Mask

Our pineapple face mask uses yoghurt, but you can replace it with olive oil for a more moisturising mask which is more suitable to ageing skin. I soooo love olive oil as it can be used in masks, in scrubs or just by itself.

Ingredients
  • 1 large thick slice of pineapple
  • 2 tblsp natural yoghurt
  • 4 tblsp cornmeal
Instructions Puree the pineapple in a blender.

Mix the ingredients in a bowl and allow it to sit for five minutes. This allows the cornmeal to soften.

Apply to your face and neck area.

Leave on your skin for 30 minutes.

Allow yourself to relax with your mask, a good book, a movie, music or all three! A facial is as good for your spirit as it is for your body.

Just before removing the mask - using gentle circular movements with your fingers, massage your skin with the mask. This action will exfoliate and remove any remaining dirt.

Rinse the mask off using warm water.

Moisturize as usual.

It’s not just your skin your pineapple face mask brightens up - it’s your whole being, as you are looking great and can smile at the world!
