Recipes For Sensitive Skin

Recipes for sensitive skin- Sensitive skin may have areas of redness and irritations or even just a rosier than usual look.

Your skin may be irritated by cosmetic products or external air factors such as car fumes or household cleaning products.

If your skin is very sensitive sometimes the only way to cleanse is by using water: there is nothing wrong with this as in fact it can be the perfect cleanser keeping the skins ph balance correct.

Oatmeal has been used for centuries as a natural skin cleanser and exfoliator because as your granny probably could tell you it contains proteins that nourish and leaves your skin feeling clean and soft. Once oatmeal is moistened with a little water it can be gently rubbed onto the skin dislodging surface cells and embedded dirt, therefore helping with blackheads and giving the skin an overall brighter appearance.

Moisturise with a simple solution of glycerine and rosewater which can be very soothing for skin. Another wonderful moisturiser to use on sensitive skin is evening primrose oil which hydrates, protects and soothes leaving your skin silky soft. Suffers of eczema may find primrose oil especially helpful.

Recipes for Sensitive Skin could include:

Gentle soothing essential oils like comfrey, chamomile, lavender and rose can calm a sensitive skin, however avoid alcohol products and stay clear of mint, nettle, sage, southernwood, thyme and rosemary as they are too stimulating.

Never introduce a whole new skin regime at once. Introduce one new skin product at a time leaving it one or two weeks before introducing the next. As with all products do a 24 hour patch test before trying out anything you have not used before.
