Removing Spray Tan
Removing spray tan can be tricky. Sometimes your spray tan just doesn't turn out the way you expect.
It's not unusual to have patchy hands or dark knees and elbows.
Sugar Scrub - Alternatively use a sugar scrub.
Make a sugar scrub by using three tablespoons of brown sugar placed in a bowl.
Pour enough olive oil over the sugar to make it stick together in a sugary paste.
Gently massage the scrub over the dark area until it looks more natural.
Finish by washing the area with warm water.
Olive Oil - Removing spray tan that really went wrong - and you just want the whole thing off - try rubbing lots and lots of olive oil all over the tanned area and leaving it for at least 3 hours before exfoliating.
Just before exfoliating, massage some more olive oil onto the area. It should just glide off!
Lemon Juice - If both the above methods have failed to remove spray tan then try using lemon juice.
Lemon is a natural bleaching agent.
Take undiluted lemon juice and massage it into the area allowing it to dry naturally before washing off.
Try making our sugar scrub and add lemon juice to the paste for a double treatment.
Some people use cleaning bleach as a last resort but this is not something we recommend as it is far too strong and will damage your skin.
Milk - Hairdressers use full fat milk to remove hair dye and although I have never tried this method for removing spray tan, it's worth a go.
Milk is a natural exfoliate so soak your exfoliating gloves in milk and give it a try. If it works for you why not write and let other readers know.
Get Your Money Back - If your spray tan was bought in a salon then go back and arrange for the patches to be removed professionally.
The salon may be able to spray tan over white patch areas to make them look more even. You may even be entitled to your money back.
